Corriedale Sheep
Heritage Bloodlines | Soft, Versatile Wool | Trusted Temperament
At Southern Sheep Company, Corriedales have been a part of our flock for over 21 years. These sheep are more than just a breed to us—they are the foundation of our needle felting kits, fiber art, and one of the longest-standing lines on our farm.

A Legacy of Carefully Bred Quality
Our Corriedale flock traces its lineage back to some of the most respected breeders in the country, including H.O. Koenig, Craig Packer, Rupert, Ben Bowe of Pennsylvania, and Renata Philippi of Montana. While our Corriedales are not registered, they are purebred and bred with the same attention to quality and conformation you’d expect from any top-tier breeding program.
We have spent two decades selectively breeding for:
Super soft, even fleeces
Beautiful head shape and structure
Easy-going, cooperative temperaments
These traits make our Corriedales an excellent choice for both beginner shepherds and experienced fiber artists alike.
Fiber Artist-Approved
Our Corriedales are the backbone of our fiber products. Their wool is soft, consistent, and incredibly workable—ideal for:
Needle felting
Wet felting
Spinning
Natural dyeing projects
If you’ve ever used one of our needle felting kits or purchased one of our sculptures, chances are it was made with wool from our very own Corriedales.

Join Our Community
We warmly invite anyone who purchases sheep from us to return in January or February for our annual shearing and foot-trimming day. It’s a great chance to learn hands-on care, connect with other shepherds, and maintain your flock with the support of experienced hands.
