Chronicles of the Lands
Tales and Chronicles from Nuthin Fancy Farm where brownies meddle and sheep pay the bills
Greetings, ye good people of the Lands, and welcome, travelers from beyond.
I am Melissa of Nuthin Fancy Farm, here in the Kingdom of the Lands, known to some simply as Richlands, though I find the older name suits the tales far better.
By trade, I am a fiber woman, spinner, dyer, felter, shepherd, milkmaid, and self-appointed Fiber Snob of the village—a title earned through many years of strong opinions regarding wool, and one which I wear with no small amount of pride.
My days are spent among sheep, both woolly and dairy; pigs of unusual temperament; peafowl who scream their grievances into the heavens; guardian hounds who take their duties most seriously; and my lord and consort, Joe, who bush-hogs the pastures upon request and calls me "My Lady" with what I choose to believe is genuine affection.
I am also, as ye shall soon discover, engaged in regular and complicated trade negotiations with a tinkerer of dubious origin, a household of brownies who demand tribute in milk, and one mysterious stiltskin whose bargains are never quite what they seem.
Here ye shall find chronicles of village life: the triumphs and calamities, the lambings and shearings, the market days and misadventures, the wool, the soap, the yarn, and the occasional roasted fowl.
Ye all—and yes, that is entirely intentional—are welcome here.
Follow along, and I shall endeavor to keep ye informed of all noteworthy happenings within the Lands.
May your wool be clean, your sheep cooperative, and your dealings with the brownies favorable.
